Where to eat in Sagres?
So let’s paint that scene, you come to Sagres with your surfboard and wetsuit ready to shred or for a surf lesson and after all day at the beach catching waves and having a good time, it’s definitely time to feast.
Well here your boy Sam got ya, this is my honest opinion where the best food is and if you know me, I definitely love food hahaha.
If you are looking for something a bit more traditional, I would go for:
Adega dos arcos: real good grilled fish and even better meat, specially the picanha which is a cut of beef that normally comes medium rare, and it’s an absolute delicacy.
Gigi: He’s my neighbour and if you are looking for that Grandma taste in food it’s the place to go, plus it’s super well priced.
A sireia: That is my shoot from the hip because they only open for lunch but boy if what are you craving is seafood decently is a must, placed above the fish market they always have the freshest fish around.
Then if you want some other recommendations where to go:
Fermento: Definitely the finest dinning that you can get in town, super tasty and elaborate dishes with probably the best Bio wine collection to be found in our humble village.
Three little birds: That restaurant is the proof of what hard work and sheer stubbornness can achieve, they make the most amazing burgers that you can find at this side of the pond but what is even more amazing is the consistency, doesn’t matter at what time, when or which day they are always superb.
Laundry lounge: Again super tasty foods specially for dinner where they specialize in Asian food, the pad thai is good the sushi is amazing, I’m telling ya, solid place plus they have live music every other day which adds a nice touch too.
The hangout: The hangout is a strange hybrid between restaurant and bar, I reckon over all is more of a restaurant than anything else, but it still has this laid back vibe and the food is fantastic too, until this day my favourite place to go for a beer after a surf sesh.
So in conclusion, you are going to be spoiled for choices during your visit, lucky with all that surfing and activities around the area should help to burn all the over indulging hahaha.
But in any case if you have any questions feel free to swing by our shop and ask, we are always happy to help.
Sam’s out, have a nice surf ;)
